By David Sparks, MacSparky.com My experience with Path Finder is an interesting one. When I first switched to my Mac, a friend told me to forget about the Apple Finder and use Path Finder. Well I downloaded it when my Mac was shiny new and it didn’t grab me. I used it a few times [...]
The first two video iPhone reviews are out on youtube.com already. They’re from Walt Mossberg and David Pogue. The Pogue one is classic Pogue, very funny. Check them out from the links below. NYT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcRfAaIb2Ro WSJ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB-Wi2u9Xfg
This week you suggested i check out Sound Grinder 3.0, and while I wasn’t sure what this software was supposed to do, when you told me it from from Monkey Tools, I simply had to say yes! With a name like Monkey Tools, how could I refuse? I went to the site at monkey-tools.com to read up on Sound Grinder before I got started, but it was very difficult to tell what this tool is for. Their site concentrates on the changes and enhancements rather than what it actually DOES. On the front page I was able to figure out that it was Universal binary, that it had droplets, and i supported Flip4Mac. I also learned that Sound Grinder 3.0″ provides another significant step forward in providing a fast, efficient, and rock solid conversion utility to meet the daily rigors of production.” “It’s built with solid engineering, providing a substantial level of efficiency and stability, saving you valuable time and resources.” so what’s it DO?
As we ready for the iPhone blitz this week, I was able to get my hands on an Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headset, the same one that’s being sold alongside the iPhone in all the AT&T stores. The looks and the design are unique and very fashionable, but what sells this Bluetooth headset is the Aliph [...]

Over the past few years, Adobe’s InDesign has made huge inroads in the page layout market. It’s taken over many shops that have been Quark’s territory. With the introduction of InDesign CS3, Adobe has once again improved their page layout program, but this time the improvements are less noticeable then the major ones we saw [...]

I used LogMeIn a lot in the past, in my Windows days, specifically to support my parents and a few other people that I helped out from time to time. As my father is coming over this weekend to pick up his PowerBook and learn how to use it I was really pleased when I saw that there was a free preview of LogMeIn for Mac available. I have being using it for some time now and I am impressed (and somewhat relieved as this is going to be a great way to help my father as he gets to know his PowerBook).
A Review from James Kocsis: Over the past couple of weeks, Mac fans have been so tied up in the announcements from D5 and WWDC that it seems like a key component of the Apple buzz-factory is being completely ignored… the Apple website. After a few days of getting used to it, I can really [...]
Hello again Tim, Allison Sheridan of the NosillaCast Podcast, hosted at podfeet.com. 2 weeks ago I gave you my tale of woe about losing my hard drive, but I turned it into a tale of discovery as I realized what applications are the ones I really rely on and aren’t just a flash in the pan. I figured I’d leave your listeners on the edge of their chairs by making it a cliff hanger, and only giving out half of the apps. Well, the wait is over, here’s the second half of Allison’s favorite apps.
David Sparks MacSparky.com. When working in Apple’s Finder I often find myself opening multiple finder windows to allow me to work with files across different locations. Sure you can technically do this within one finder window but it never seems to work quite right and it inevitably leads to a lot more clicks than necessary. [...]
