When it comes to web development, I’m hardly a power user and I’ve found iWeb to be just fine for most of the web based projects I’m involved with. That being said, there are a few features I do miss in iWeb 08. Zarra Studios comes to the rescue with its $25 add-on for iWeb called iWeb Buddy. Put simply, iWeb Buddy picks up the slack for iWeb.

Have you ever wanted to put one of those cool looking arty photographic edges on one of your photographs? Maybe you needed to cut someone out of the background of a photo, wanted to make a poster from a small image, or have had problems working with levels or curves, then Essentials 2 by onOne software is for you.
Its not often you get to review something that is genuinely a revolutionary approach to a fairly old idea. This opportunity, however landed in my email inbox on the 28th March with an application called Times.
This week we look at Web2Delight, Essentials 2, Times, iWeb buddy Hear, Medialink and much more. I want to thank you for downloading and listening to the podcast. We have the best in Mac hardware, software and websites reviews. We have a lot of great folks on today’s episode with their reviews and comments on software, hardware and websites that make using the Mac special. Plus I’ll have the top freeware Mac apps of the week and much more.
You can email me at surfbits at Gmail dot Com. I love to hear from you.

I’ve never really had the need for an application to handle mass emailing, but this week I had a small project that gave me an opportunity to test out Direct Mail from ethreesoftware.com, a mailing-list management software for Mac OS X. I needed to send instructions to on how to access webmail for a new domain I had setup and rather than sending the group generic directions I thought that I could use Direct Mail’s mail merging functionality to individualize each email and also be able to track if the email had been read, or if it had been bounced.
I’m what you would call an “old school” gamer which means while I’m generally cannon fodder in Halo, put me on a 25 year old stand-up Tempest game and watch out! So I’ll admit I’m not the most up to date gamer out there but I’m also a parent. When I saw Freeverse’s Big Bang Brain Games I was immediately interested. This looked like something that would be fun for my family to do together.
It’s hard to imagine that it is almost twenty five years since I sat down and played a game on my first personal computer. I was a child of the early 70’s and like every other boy in my class was fascinated by the personal computer phenomenon.
Fast forward to the early 80’s and I was fully into handhelds, consoles and of course my beloved ZX Spectrum 48k. Yes you did hear me correctly, 48k!
So, I’m guessing that by now you’re thinking what is he wittering on about?
