As you may know by now, I have a geek passion for fountain pens and all that goes along with that passion, paper, journals, ink and more.

I think there are many of you that read this blog that enjoy the same passion as I do, or at least you might enjoy it if you give it a try.

How is it that a Mac geek like myself can enjoy the “primitive” experience of a fountain pen on paper? Shouldn’t my writing experiences be enjoyed in iOS apps like Plaintext, Notesy, Byword, or OSX apps like BBEdit, or even Pages? Sometimes, but every once in a while there comes a time when you want the tactile, soul-searching, basic feeling of a great fountain pen on a wonderful paper. Try it yourself.

You may want to know how or where to start so I listed a few of the 65 different RSS feeds for pens and paper and in I have in my newsreader. I also listed a few of the podcasts I listen to and that I know you’ll enjoy. Have fun and please ask me any questions you may have. I love talking pens and paper as much as I love talking Mac software and hardware.

One Response to “Did You Know I’m a Fountain Pen Geek?”

Tim, I like to use the iPad for some notes but nothing can compare to the thrill of inking up a fountain pen with just the right ink for the moment, and watching it flow onto that special paper. It is totally illogical but the experience it totally memorizing. I think I like the old (analog for lack of better words) and the new. I still enjoy using film even though I have a digital camera. I still love my mechanical wrist watch even though I have more accurate time in my Iphone. Each of these things make me slow down and really enjoy the moment and Heck I think I look good with ink on my fingers. :-)
