My new friends at JetPens.com sent me a Fisher Space Pen Bullet for review. It has an interesting story behind it’s development that I wanted to share with you before we take a look at the pen itself.
Paul Fisher and his associates invented the Space Pen in 1965 at no cost to NASA or our government. NASA tested the Fisher Space Pens and selected them for use on all the manned Space Flights. Made with an all brass body, the inner ink component of the Bullet is pressurized, assuring smooth writing on virtually any surface! The sealed ink cartridge is pressurized at about 45 pounds per square inch and contains a visco-elastic, thixotropic, solid-gel ink. The result is a ballpoint pen that will write dependable smooth upside down, underwater, over grease, in extreme cold and hot temperatures and has an estimated shelf life of 100 years. Multiple body colors and ink color refills available.
I received the pen pictured in this article, but as I mentioned above, there are many different body colors, and ink colors to choose from. The pens range from $20 to $23 and the refills are $5 each. You can also purchase a clip for $3.35 if you’re a shirt-pocket type person.

Pen dimensions: Approximately 3.8 inches (9.7 cm) long when capped, 5.3 inches (13.5 cm) from tip to end of cap when cap is posted on back of pen, and 0.4 inches (10 mm) in diameter. I found the pen to have a very sturdy feel and when you post the cap, it has plenty of length for a large hand to comfortably hold. When sealed, the pen is a perfect front pocket solution, or even a purse or briefcase. The Space Pen can really take a beating and not leak a drop. The pen is the perfect solution for any outdoors enthusiast. When hunting, the extreme temperatures will not affect it’s performance and with the ability to write underwater, divers will love this pen.
There are several different models to choose from, but the Bullet is a must have for anyone that needs a ballpoint pen that travels well and performs flawlessly. The warranty is great (unconditional lifetime warranty) and the build quality looks exceptional. If you are an active, or an outdoor person, this pen is a must-have. I just love pens and the Fisher Space Pen Bullet is unique and fun. It’s in my pocket and will stay there.

Unfortunately for me it DOESN’T stay in the pocket so the lifetime warranty is a non-player. The sneaky devils like to slip out when I sit. Love the pin, however.
