The idea of playing your iPod in your auto is not new. There’s been FM transmitters around almost
as long as the iPod’s been here. What’s new is that the feature list on the FM Transmitter keeps growing. Tekkeon’s new myTune FM Transmitter has a long list of features that make using your iPod in your auto easier and easier. Just take a look at what’s built into the Tekkeon…
It’s an FM transmitter
It’s an iPod charging system
It’s adjustable to 7 FM frequencies with no software needed
It mounts to your auto’s air vents for easy access
It comes with A USB port to connect to your laptop for music transfer on the go
It includes a built-in antenna and is designed with a phase-lock-loop transmission system for minimal interference.
The myTunes FM does all of this and does it quite well. Other then seeing a cord on my dash, I liked everything about the product. I was able to use 7 preset FM frequencies and change them with a simple touch of one button. I was able to get a good solid reception and sound through my FM tuner and the USB 2.0 port made it simple to connect to my laptop while charging or playing podcasts in the car.
Of course, all the features do not come cheap, the myTunes FM costs $69.95 MSRP. But if you have a 10,15,20,30,40 GB iPod, or a 20 or 40 GB click wheel iPod, or an iPod mini, or iPod photo, this is a solid product and will work in most any vehicle as long as it has air vents to plug the clips in the back of the myTune into. FM transmitters may not be perfect yet, but Tekkeon’s latest model keeps getting closer.
