Seasonality: Weather Taken to the Next Level

If you are into the weather, then Gaucho Software has just the application for you. Seasonality is touted as Weather taken to the next level which accurately describes what this program does.
Some of the weather specific features include:

1. 7 day forecast with high/low temperatures and probability of precipitation.
2. Local Radar image showing current precipitation.
3. Graphs of previous temperatures and wind speeds.
4. Daily sunrise and sunset times, along with the length of day.
5. Monitor multiple locations.
6. Automatically saves weather data to allow viewing of past conditions.
7. Currently monitors locations in the USA, worldwide location support coming soon.

What I liked most about Seasonality was it’s ease of use and flexibility. It was extremely easy for me to setup multiple monitoring locations so I could at a glance see what the weather happened to be like in London while I was chatting on the phone with a client in England. The program offers you the ability to see as little or as much information as you like at one time. If offers multiple views, including Radar, temperature graphs and wind speeds.

If all you care about is finding out what the days weather holds in store so you can get dressed accordingly, this application will save you a trip to weather.com. If you are interested in additional weather related information, Seasonality fits that bill nicely. I am surprised that they don’t offer a Mac OS X Tiger Widget which could contain the essential information at the press of a button without having the fire up the full application. This is especially odd since the company is no strangers to designing one of the best monitoring widgets out there Dash Monitors

Previous to discovering Seasonality, I used one of the stock Apple widgets to meet my weather information needs and if I had more involved weather needs, Seasonality would probably be a staple in my Dock. Obviously this is a specialized product aimed at a certain niche and I think it serves that niche well. With the recent natural disasters wrecking havoc on our planet, more and more people are getting actively involved in what is going on with the weather and for those folks, Seasonality is a great application. You can get a free 30 day trial of Seasonality and after the trial period, the cost is $24.95. It’s a well written Mac application that is a must have for anyone who is serious about viewing weather data on their Mac.
