I don’t usually talk about or recommend beta software but I did want to explicitly make mention of the newly released beta of Firefox. You can download it here in Universal Binary format. There’s quite a few interesting features in the new FireFox, including:

- Built-in anit-phishing protections.

- Automatic session restoration after a browser crash.

- The ability to reopen accidentally closed tabs.

- Inline spell checking that comes in handy when you’re filling in forms and other text boxes.

- Microsummaries of bookmarked pages. Microsummaries are regularly-updated short summaries of web pages.

I’ve been using it for the last 24 hours and so far, on a MacBook Pro, I’m quite happy with it so if you too are a fan of FireFox, give it a look. Thanks to TUAW for the heads up.
